PREPARING FOR DRY SEASON FEEDING SUCCESS

Dry season preparation begins with wisdom because every farmer knows abundance will not last forever. During rainy months, forage grows freely and supports healthy animals with excellent nutrition prepare wisely.

As sunshine approaches, farmers must consider how to preserve available feedstuffs before dryness becomes severe. Irrigation helps some, but processing forage into hay, haylage or silage remains a practical solution.

Hay is dried grass stored for animal feed, while haylage contains wilted forage with higher moisture levels and silage is preserved green fodder kept in airtight conditions for animal feeding.

These methods ensure livestock receive quality nutrition throughout the year without unnecessary hunger during harsh dry seasons. Farmers should begin planning now because preparation during abundance creates security scarcity comes.
