In my years of poultry production, I have observed that chronic respiratory disease can become a recurring challenge in broilers, especially when underlying factors remain unresolved. Prevention and vigilance matter.

Broilers may appear to recover after treatment, yet environmental stress, poor ventilation, dust, ammonia, overcrowding, or secondary infections can trigger respiratory signs again later. Management must remain continuous and consistent.

This is why farmers should not assume that one successful treatment means the problem has disappeared permanently. Identifying triggers, improving ventilation, maintaining hygiene, and reducing stress remain essential throughout production.

Proper biosecurity, quality management, appropriate vaccination programmes, and professional veterinary guidance can reduce recurrence and protect flock performance. Treatment should address the cause, not merely suppress visible symptoms temporarily effectively.

From experience, chronic respiratory disease is often managed rather than permanently eliminated until broilers are finally culled. Consistent observation and good husbandry can keep its impact under control daily consistently.
