Feed costs can determine whether livestock farming thrives or struggles. Between 2019 and 2025, my feed cost rose, forcing me to rethink production. Costs matter.

In 2019, feeding one kilogram cost 70 naira. By 2025, that same kilogram reached 400 naira, representing approximately a 471 percent increase today. Planning matters.

As an Animal Science graduate trained across livestock disciplines at FUNAAB and the University of Ibadan, I knew feeding required research and innovation. Knowledge matters.

I developed a cost-effective combination of three feed ingredients, producing a formula costing about 175 naira per kilogram, while maintaining animal performance. Innovation matters.

After several weeks of testing, the four animals became active, maintained full stomachs, and recorded tremendous weight improvement, strengthening confidence in the formula. Results matter.

The experience proves research, knowledge, and creativity can transform challenges into opportunities. Smart feed formulation can improve efficiency, returns, and sustainability when evaluated. Research matters.
