Understanding livestock diseases, their prevention, diagnosis, and treatment is essential for every serious animal farmer. Knowledge protects animals, productivity, income, and livelihoods. Prevention strengthens success.

Sheep can face several important diseases, including pox, enterotoxaemia, tympany, mastitis, pink eye, actinomycosis, orf, PPR, FMD, and foot rot. Early awareness matters greatly today.

These conditions can cause pain, poor growth, reduced production, reproductive losses, deaths, and serious financial challenges when identification or intervention is delayed. Early action saves.

Farmers should observe animals regularly for unusual behaviour, appetite changes, lameness, breathing difficulties, swelling, discharge, skin lesions, diarrhoea, and other warning signs. Observation supports diagnosis.

Good hygiene, vaccination, nutrition, quarantine, housing, clean water, and biosecurity can reduce disease risks. Treatment should follow accurate diagnosis and veterinary guidance. Prevention remains powerful.
