Rats multiply quickly, destroy feed, spread diseases, and reduce farm profits. Instead of depending only on poisons and traps, many farmers achieve lasting success with well-managed cats. Natural solutions often outperform expensive alternatives.

Choose cats older than weaners because they handle relocation better and adapt faster. Very young kittens may struggle with stress and fail to settle properly. A good beginning improves long-term results.

After bringing them home, keep them confined or tied safely for ten to fourteen days. This allows them to recognize the environment before roaming freely. Patience prevents unnecessary losses.

Feed them moderately, enough for strength but not excess. Hungry enough to hunt, yet healthy enough to thrive, they remain active and effective against rodents. Balance produces the best performance.

On my farm with broilers, rabbits, and ruminants, cats have never harmed livestock. They remain dependable rodent hunters, protecting feed and improving farm productivity naturally. Experience remains the strongest teacher.
